Their ‘I Love My School’ project helps to transform schools from
dull, uninspiring spaces to what many students now refer to as their
‘second home’. LightSource Charity trustee, Albena Spurling, draws
inspiration from the children’s own ideas and, using her creative
flair, decorates schools with bright colours, images, quotations, and
educational information on photo-wallpaper. The children are
hands-on in helping to design and improve their classrooms,
empowering them to make a difference to their quality of life.
The charity’s mission extends beyond the walls of schools and
kindergartens.
Since 2023, their ‘Plant a Tree’ initiative
has helped to plant a wonderful mix
of Polish Ash, Common Sycamore
and Lilac trees on school grounds.
These efforts help to combat climate
change, improve air quality and
enhance biodiversity, while creating
beautiful spaces for the children to
enjoy. Together, we’re working towards
a greener tomorrow and inspiring the
next generation to care for our planet.
